Building Better Futures with Scientific Education

The Minorities in Skilled Trades and Engineering (M.I.S.T.E) Foundation Inc. is dedicated to improving the outlook for high-risk youth, military veterans and adults in the Detroit, Michigan, area. More often than not, children in high-risk neighborhoods are shuttled into under-funded schools and expected to enter the working world without resources. We seek to better prepare at-risk individuals with the inclusion of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education.

Support your education and improve your earning power by signing up for our educational programs. Our programs are open to various groups, including high school students and the working poor.

Educational Programs

In order to better our students, we're looking for qualified full- and part-time instructors. Volunteer opportunities are also available to anyone who wishes to help our clients learn and grow.

About Us

The purpose or purposes for which the corporation is organized is to receive and administer funds to train and educate individuals from a select demographic. Emphasis will be placed in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (S.T.E.M) fields.

At The M.I.S.T.E Foundation Inc., we strive to better the lives of the underserved or underrepresented by improving their chances of success. Our programs are designed to increase marketability, decrease unemployment, and boost membership in a variety of skilled trades. We also encourage individuals to go into business for themselves after gaining years of work experience in their respective skilled trades and to further their educational goals in the STEM fields. With the help of our educational programs, high-risk individuals will gain the skills necessary to enter the working world. Inspired by our founder’s own experiences, we aim to help individuals of all ethnicities both male and female. Individuals will gain valuable skills and will enter a expanding middle class after gaining years of work experience. We firmly believe that knowledge is power and everyone is capable of achieving great things. Our science-based programs will help individuals discover marketable skills and to become contributing members of society.
